The surrounding areas of Valencia are
covered with lemon, almond, and orange groves, which flourish due to the
ideal climate Valencia has to offer where the temperatures range from
around 23ºC in January up to around 35ºC in July.
The mountain range of Sierra Calderona to the North of the city offers
the tourist a wealth of leisure activities such as Golf, horse riding,
trekking, climbing and a variety of water sports on the nearby coast.
While Valencia city has a large beach, its surrounding coast also boasts
an infinite number of beaches.
To the South, the tourist resorts of Gandia, Oliva, Denia and Javea are
also within easy reach by bus, train or motorway.
To the North, lies the ancient town of Sagunto, famous for its Castle
and Roman Amphitheatre and the bustling town of Castellón, with the
beautiful beaches of Benicasim and Oropesa closeby.
